473 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND STRONG, James W. James was born on January 29, 1920 in Arran Township. He enlisted in the Army in July of 1940 and served with the 1st Med RCA (Regt) in Italy and Northwestern Europe during World War II. He was discharged in October of 1945. He was a member of the Chesley Legion Branch 144 for more than 50 years before he passed away on September 6, 2010. STURMAN, Ken W. Ken was born on October 11, 1932 in Lindsay, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army in May of 1951 and served in Germany and the British Zone with the 55 CDN T.P.T. CO during Peacetime. He served second year as a batman to Captain Rev. G.A. Hatton (Chaplain). After returning from Germany, he worked 32 and-a-half years at G.M. in Oshawa. STROUD, Donald Charles Donald was born on December 1, 1934 in Balaclava, ON. He enlisted in the Army on February 8, 1954 at B.P.D. Ottawa and took Basic Training in London, ON and Advanced Training in Wainwright, AB. He was on hold for employment to Korea, but cease fire came in July of 1953. Before being discharged on October 27, 1957, he was posted to Petawawa, ON. Upon his return to civilian life, Donald worked for various industries. He retired from Haley Industries in 1978. Donald is now living in Renfrew, ON and has been a member of the Renfrew Legion Branch 148 for six years.
