He served with the B Sqn 1st Hussars, 6th Canadian Army Tank Regiment in the United Kingdom, France and Germany during World War II. Roy spent ten months as a prisoner of war in Germany at Stalag VII C. He was discharged on August 20, 1945 and wore his Volunteer Service Medal proudly. He was a member of the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 for 25 years until he passed away on June 5, 1973. SHINOS, Peter Peter was born on February 21, 1933. He went to residential school in Spanish, ON; three years in Michigan, USA; and completed grade 12 while serving in the U.S. Army. He married Josephine Mattson. He resides in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan and his hobbies are building doghouses and picnic tables. He plays the mouth organ. He later got remarried to Rebecca Sampson in 1972. He served one year (1969) in Vietnam with the 379 Transportation Group driving trucks. He has a total of 22 years of Federal Service. SHINIMAN, Norman A. Norman was born on November 21, 1903 in Toronto, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army in September of 1939 and served in England during World War II. He was discharged in 1944. Norman passed away on January 12, 1976.
