Military Service Recognition Book 446 ONTARIO COMMAND SEED, John Franklin “Frank” Frank was born in Strathroy, ON, on January 5, 1927. He enlisted on January 18, 1945 at the young age of 18. Frank served in the Canadian Army with the Royal Canadian Regiment as an Infantryman. He trained in Chatham, Ipperwash and Brockville. His area of service was Canada. Frank was honourably discharged due to demobilization at the rank of Private on February 22, 1946. His decorations are the 1939 – 1945 Star and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Frank has been a member of the Sir Arthur Currie Legion Branch 116 for 60 years. SERGEANT, Erika C. Erika was born on February 24, 1987 in Alexandria, Virginia, USA. She is a registered nurse who served in the Canadian Forces from 2006 – 2013. In January 2010, she deployed on Op Hestia as part of Canada’s humanitarian response to the Earthquake in Haiti. She helped set up the deployable military field hospital in Leogane and provided medical care to those injured in the earthquake. In September of 2011, she was seconded to the United States Air Force as the Nurse Liaison Officer for the Joint Theatre Trauma System at the Role 3 Craig Joint Theatre Hospital, Bagram AFB in Afghanistan for Op Attention. While there, she also carried out duties as the Trauma Nurse Coordinator for the Canadian Forces, as well as a Staff Nurse in the Emergency Department. After her release from the CF, she has been working as an RN at the North Bay Regional Hospital providing care in the Emergency Department. SEGUI, Frank A. Frank was born on September 28, 1919 in Thetford Mines, ON. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps on July 25, 1940 at the young age of 19 and served with the Royal Canadian Regiment during World War II. Theatres of operations include: Canada, United Kingdom, Central Mediterranean Area, Mainly Sicily and Italy, and Continental Europe (France and Germany). His decorations include the 1939 – 1945 Star, Italy Star, France and Germany Star, Defence Medal, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, and the War Medal 1939 – 1945. Frank was honourably discharged on January 24, 1947 at the rank of Private. He was a Life Member of the Sir Arthur Currie Legion Branch 116 and passed away on December 19, 2007 at the age of 88.
