443 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND SCHRAM, Hubert E. Hubert was born on April 12, 1937 in Vittoria, Ontario. He enlisted in July of 1954 with the Royal Canadian Navy in Canada. After his discharge in 1964, he worked at Wire and Cable for 28 years. He became active in The Royal Canadian Legion serving two years as first Vice President, four years as President, two years as Deputy Zone Commander and two years as Zone Commander. A member of the Waterford Branch 123 for 36 years. SCOTT, Douglas H. Douglas was born in Toronto on July 16, 1928. He graduated in 1951 with a BA from U of T and participated in the COTC Program. Prior to the Invasion of Korea, he joined the Army as part of the Special Forces. He served on the Alaska Highway as qualified Airborne. He served in Korea from 1952 – 1953. OIC 54 Coy TpT Det, Bde Hqs, was responsible for building a 440 Track for Canada Day July 1952. In Canada, after the Active Force, he served with The Reserve for four years as a Captain. He started a CA Course, completing it in 1958 and was a partner in a CA firm in 1963. He was a chairman of North Arena for five years. In 1970, he moved to San Diego, California and had a twenty-five year long career with senior positions in Health Care. He became a qualified accountant in California. He moved to Columbus, Georgia in 1995 where he taught high school English, History and kicking and punting. He took an MPA program at Columbus State University. In 2011, he broke his hip on black ice and went to the Veteran’s Residence in Sunnybrook. He is now keeping busy writing poetry and painting pictures. SCHWASS, Stanley R. Stanley was born on June 26, 1904 in Toronto Junction, County of York, Ontario. He served with the 99th Field Battery RCA AF, 19th Regiment after enlisting on October 31, 1941. He served in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe during World War II. Stanley was discharged on February 7, 1946. He was a member of the Port Elgin Legion Branch 340. Stanley passed away on June 7, 1959.
