423 www.on.legion.ca ONTARIO COMMAND RABILLARD, Leo J. Leo was born on March 14, 1923 in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario. He enlisted in the Army on September 20, 1943. He served with the 17th Duke of York’s Royal Canadian Hussars and 7th Canadian Reconnaissance 3rd Division in Canada, the United Kingdom and Continental Europe during World War II. He was a member of the Aubrey Cosens Legion Branch 629 before he passed away on October 28, 2003. RANKIN, Gordon J. Gordon was born on July 2, 1930 in Rothesay, Bute, Scotland. He served with the Royal Air Force, G.B. National Service from November 1948 to June 1950, with the 48 Highlanders Pipe and Drums from 1954 to 1982 and as a Bar Steward from 1994 to 1996. He was a bugler and drummer and he earned the 12 Year Service Medal and bar. He wore cased and uncased regimental colours for each and every parade. He has been a member of the Legion Branch 71 for 16 years and of Brooklin Branch 152 for 1 year. RANGER, Lewis C. Lewis was born in Ingersoll, ON, on May 13, 1921. He enlisted in the Army on September 24, 1939. He served with the 12th Field Battery, 7th Field Regiment, and Royal Canadian Artillery. He served in England, France, Germany and Holland during World War II. The King has approved the award of the Mentions in Despatches in recognition of gallant and distinguished service. He also received the bronze oak lead emblem awarded with the Defence Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. He was a member of the Legion Branch 4 in Welland, ON. Lewis passed away on February 19, 1991.
