Norman was born on June 4, 1923 in Strathroy, ON. He served his country for over 23 years starting with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps (RCASC) during World War II from July 28, 1941 to December 4, 1945 when he was honourably discharged at the rank of Private. His second period of service was with the Royal Canadian Ordinance Corps (RCOC) from September 9, 1954 to November 30, 1973 being honourably discharged at the rank of Warrant Officer. Norman served in Canada, England, France, Holland, Germany and Egypt during his career. His decorations include the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defense Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp, the War Medal 1939-45, UNEFME Egypt, and the Canadian Forces Decoration and Clasp. Holland also presented Norman with the Normandy Campaign Medal and Liberators Medal. Norm was a Life member of Sir Arthur Currie Legion Branch 116 and held numerous Chairman Positions including President. Norman passed away on April 4, 2010 at the age of 86.
