Served with the Royal Newfoundland Regiment, embarked to St. John’s June 10, 1915 on the S.S. Calgarian. Served from April 12, 1915 to July 1, 1916. Posted in France. Awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal. Date of death: Reported as killed in action at Beaumont Hamel on July 1, 1916. Buried in Y Ravine Cemetery, Beaumont Hamel, Somme France.
