He joined the Canadian Armed Forces in August 1967 and served as an Infantryman, retiring in January 1993. During his career he was posted to CFB Gagetown, NB; CFB Petawawa, ON; US Naval Base Argentia, NL and CFB Chatham, NB. He deployed to Cyprus and was awarded the UN Peacekeeping medal for 2 tours and the Canadian Decoration. Gordon is a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 50 Conception Bay. THOMAS, Lyman William Service # SF102673 Lyman was born in Port Saunders, NL on January 10, 1942. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces in December 1959 and served in Cyprus with the Military Police until May of 1980. He passed away on January 1, 2023. ST. CROIX, Gerard “Gerry” Gerry was born in Point La Haye, NL on November 27, 1937. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces in April 1957. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic and Refrigeration Technician until 1987. He was posted to St. Jean, QC; Trenton, ON; Aylmer, ON; Rockcliffe, ON; CFS Torbay, NL; Greenwood, NS; Baden-Soellingen, Germany; Sidney, NS; Chilliwack, BC; North Bay, ON; Winnipeg, MB and Gander, NL. He deployed to El Arish, Egypt as a United Nations Peacekeeper from August 1962 to August 1963. He was awarded with the Canadian Decoration, Egypt medal, Peacekeeping Medal and NATO Medal. Gerry passed away on May 16, 2018. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 64 CBC Holyrood.
