He joined the Canadian Armed Forces on June 10, 1991. He served with the Canadian Army in the Lord Strathcona’s Horse, Armoured Corp. Cordell retired on February 19, 2018. During his military career he was posted to New Brunswick, Quebec and Alberta. He deployed to Bosnia (1997 & 2003), Kosovo (1999), Afghanistan (2010) and Ukraine (2017). He also deployed during the Winnipeg floods (1997), G8 Summit Security Force (2002), Canmore floods (2013). Cordell was also a Member of the Order of Military Merit (MMM). He passed away on June 26, 2023. BENOIT, Robert John Service # D78 328 081 Master Seaman Robert Benoit was born in Marches Point, NL on June 2, 1964. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces on January 17, 1985. He served with the Royal Canadian Navy as a Steward until November 25, 2005. During his career he was posted on HMCS Assiniboine, HMCS Frasor, HMCS Algonquin, HMCS Athabaskan, HMCS Preserver, CFB Trenton, CFB Halifax, CFB Shearwater and CFB Goose Bay. BARRY, John J. “Jack” Service # 35201 He served with the RCAF from 1950-1965. Jack was the Past President and Service Officer for Branch # 27, Clarenville. He is deceased.
