IPV - Older Adults ● VPI - personnes âgées 3 Your impact Each year, the CPANB participates in an educational booklet campaign with the aim of helping New Brunswickers understand public safety issues and find help. This year’s booklet is focused on recognizing intimate partner violence for middle-aged and older adults. To see past booklets, visit our website: www.cpanb-apcnb.com Proceeds from this campaign allow the CPANB to fund communitybased crime prevention initiatives in New Brunswick. Last year, the CPANB granted funds to Riverview Neighbourhood Watch and $10 000 to the NB South Central Transition House & Second Stage Coalition Inc. and the Réseau des services pour victimes de violence du NouveauBrunswick. These groups represent and support organizations that provide services directly to victims/ survivors of intimate partner violence including shelters, second stage housing, violence prevention centres and sexual assault services. The COVID-19 pandemic created additional strain for an already overwhelmed and under-resourced intimate partner violence sector in New Brunswick. Funds allowed the Coalition and the Réseau to increase their social media presence to raise awareness of intimate partner violence, support efforts in social distancing and reducing the spread of COVID-19, and provided training to members so they were equipped to provide the best support possible to New Brunswickers. The impacts of the Coalition and the Réseau, and all the member organizations whom they support are felt throughout the province. The efforts of the intimate partner violence sector are directly contributing to improving safety for victims/survivors of violence and the CPANB is honoured to support their work.
