Before enlisting he attended McGill COTC. He enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force on January 25, 1916 with the rank of Lieutenant and was posted to the 9th Field Ambulance and sent to England in March. In April he was sent to France where he stayed with the CAMC until September 1917. At this time, he was appointed a commission with the RNAS 73 Squadron. Lt. Dawson was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal. He lost his life on August 10, 1918 and is listed on the Arras Flying Services Memorial in Pas-de-Calais, France. DEE, Walter Leo WWII/Deuxième Guerre mondiale Walter was born on March 2, 1922 in Cliffordvale, NB. He served with the Canadian Army in Canada, the United Kingdom, France and Germany. Walter passed away on May 11, 2005. Walter est né le 2 mars 1922 à Cliffordvale, au N.-B. Il a servi dans l'Armée canadienne au Canada, au Royaume-Uni, en France et en Allemagne. Walter est décédé le 11 mai 2005. DeMERCHANT, Gerald Archibald WWII/DeuxièmeGuerre mondiale Gerald was born in Tobique Narrows, NB in 1921. He enlisted in World War II with the Carleton and York Regiment and served in England, Sicily and Italy. Corporal DeMerchant served with the Engineering Corps. He was wounded in December 1944 and was unable to return to duty. Gerald est né en 1921 à Tobique Narrows, au N.-B.
