In 1947, he married Helen Roberts and they had five children, Dennis, John, Alice, Lorna and Laura. Fred enlisted in Winnipeg, trained at Camp Borden and served overseas in England and Continental Europe. He has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Baldur Branch 108. RAMAGE, Wallace WWII Wallace, the second son of the late Robert and Edith Ramage of Baldur, was born on July 31, 1924.Wallace enlisted in the RCAF in Winnipeg in June 1942; serving in Canada at Winnipeg, Montreal, Halifax, Shellbourne and in Newfoundland. He married Ruth McPherson on December 21, 1951 and they had a family of six. RICKER, William Jon WWII William was born in Neelin, Manitoba, the son of Harry and Mary Ricker. In 1942, he married Grace Barnard of Kenora and they had four children, Laverne, Jeannine, Brian and Larry. He enlisted in Winnipeg, trained at Shilo and was stationed at Vancouver, British Columbia. ROBERTS, John WWII John was born in Greenway, Manitoba, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Roberts. He married Marion in 1952 and lived at Merritt, British Columbia where he was employed as a miner. They had two children, Valerie Joan and Jo Ann Maureen. He enlisted in Winnipeg and trained at North Bay and Aldershot, Nova Scotia. RONCIN, Albert F. WWII Albert was born in McCreary, Manitoba in 1916. He served in the RCA and transferred to Calgary Tanks. He served in Canada, England, Sicily, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany during World War II. He was a member of McCreary Royal Canadian Legion Branch 173 for 43 years. Albert passed away in 1989. ROSS, Charles Edgar “Ed” WWII Ed was born in Shoal Lake, Manitoba, the son of William and Florence Ross. On September 2, 1941 he married Elizabeth Stanley and they had two children, Carolynne and Edwin. He enlisted in Winnipeg and trained in Regina, Patricia Bay and Brandon and was stationed at Dartmouth, NS. While serving as a Pilot in the Atlantic Coastal Command with the RCAF at Torbay, Newfoundland, Ed was seriously injured when he crash landed in foul weather over Dartmouth, NS. He was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Baldur Branch 108. ROW, Noel WWII Noel was born in Hollingworth, Cheshire, England, the son of Thomas and Edith. He married Margaret Jones of Saskatchewan. He enlisted in Winnipeg in April 1942 and trained at Vernon, BC and served overseas in England, Italy and North West Europe. His brother Stan was killed in Italy in December 1944. Both Noel and Stan worked in the Municipality of Argyle. ROWLEY, William John WWI William was born in Ipswich, England on April 5, 1878, the son of Elizabeth (Brown) and William Rowley. He enlisted in Winnipeg on April 19, 1916, receiving his training there and at Portage la Prairie. He served with the 11th Canadian Railway Troops in France for seventeen months. He was discharged on April 25, 1919. He married Bertha Thokelson on April 6, 1909. They had eight children, W. J. Rowley, Eva E. M. Durent, Victor R., Henry D., Edith Collins, Wesley B. H., Frank S., and Grace Jame Quaife. William passed away on July 8, 1958. SANSOM, William John WWII William was born in Marringhurst District, son of John and Margaret Sansom. He married on November 29, 1947 and he and his wife Marjorie had a son, Allen, and a daughter, June. He enlisted in Winnipeg on June 10, 1940 and trained at Borden, Hamilton, Sussex and Truro and served overseas in England and Continental Europe. SCOTT, Gordon Raymond WWII Gordon was born in Baldur, Manitoba in 1923, the son of Wilf and Mary Scott. He married June Ferguson in 1948 and they had three daughters, Sheila, Linda and Debby, and a son, Gordon Jr. He enlisted at Regina and trained at Comox, BC. He was six months in Shaunesy Hospital following an operation and was discharged for medical reason. After discharge, Gordon was employed as a pipe line foreman. SCOTT, Harold Keith PEACETIME Keith was born in Woodnorth, Manitoba on January 4, 1933, the son of Wilf and Mary Scott. He married Joyce Hildebrand of Snowflake, MB. They had five children: William, David, Cheryl, Jeffery and Tommy. He enlisted in Winnipeg with the Air Force in 1953 and trained at Centralia, ON and at Portage la Prairie and was stationed at Rivers and Winnipeg.
