He served as Sergeant in World War I with the 9th Lancers in France and re-enlisted in World War II serving with the Veterans Guard of Canada. George received the 1914 Star, the Military Medal, the Distinguished Conduct Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. He was a member of the Flin Flon Royal Canadian Legion Branch 73. George passed away in 1964. ASPHOLM, Reuben L. WWII Reuben was born on January 31, 1922 in Melville, Saskatchewan, son of Albert and Esther Aspholm. He enlisted and served overseas as Signalman with the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals during World War II. Sergeant Major R.L. Aspholm was wounded in France in 1944 and on February 13, 1945 died of his wounds. Reuben was married to Dorothy Vivian Aspholm of Elmwood, Manitoba. ATHEY, Alex Ross WWII Alex served in the Air Force. Corporal Athey arrived overseas in May 1941. He served overseas in England during World War II. He spent several months in a hospital in England. Alex was discharged in Winnipeg on June 19, 1945.
