He enlisted in the Army with the 5th Canadian Armoured Division and served on all fronts during World War II as Sergeant. Thomas was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 73 in Flin Flon. ATAMANCHUK, Michael WWII Michael was born on January 19, 1926. He enlisted in Winnipeg on November 14, 1944 and served in Canada during World War II. He was discharged in Winnipeg on April 11, 1946 and was awarded the Service Medal. ATKINSON, William Gordon WWII William was born in Russell, Manitoba. He enlisted in the Army on October 7, 1939 and served with the SLL and RSEME in Canada and overseas. He was discharged on September 20, 1945 in Regina. William was awarded the Service Medal. AURIAT, Albert Joseph WWII Albert was born in Saint-Front, Saskatchewan on April 24, 1924. He enlisted in Trail, BC on December 17, 1942. He served in Italy and in Europe with the 17th Field Regiment and was wounded during his service. He was discharged in Regina on March 18, 1946. Private Albert Auriat was awarded the Service Medal. AVERY, Frank C. WWII Frank enlisted in the Air Force in 1924 in Winnipeg. He served as Pilot Officer with the #21 TS until his discharge on February 6, 1945. Frank married Lois Schell on July 27, 1935. AVISON, Robert Francis RESERVES Robert was born in Ontario on December 31, 1891. He enlisted in the Reserves inWinnipeg on January 7, 1918. He served in England with the 76th Battery, Reserve Artillery CCC. He was discharged on September 18, 1919. Robert had a daughter named Evelyn. AYERS, Robert Maxwell WWII Robert served in Canada and overseas with D Coy, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. AYRES, George William WWII George was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on April 22, 1922. He enlisted in Saskatoon in November 1942 having first been rejected in 1941. He served overseas with the #7 ITS during World War II. George married Lance Corporal P. H. Ayres, Canadian Women’s Army Corps. BABER, Harry D. WWII Harry enlisted in the Navy in Saskatoon on March 13, 1944 at the age of eighteen. He served overseas onboard HMCS Montcalm and HMCS Clifton during World War II. BACHNICK, Philip WWII Philip enlisted in the Army and served in Canada and overseas during World War II. BADRE, Daniel John WWII Daniel was born in St. Williams, Ontario on January 1, 1922. He enlisted in Winnipeg with #10 Clearing Depot on November 2, 1942. He served in Canada on Home Defence with the 23rd AA during World War II. He was discharged in Vancouver on August 21, 1943. BAERWALD, Harala Emil WWII Harala enlisted in the Army and served in Canada and overseas during World War II. He was discharged on December 3, 1945. BAERWALD, Herburt Lawrence WWII Herburt enlisted in the Army and served in Canada and overseas during World War II until his discharge on December 3, 1945. BAICH, Benny WWII Benny enlisted in the Navy and served in Canada and on the High Seas until his discharge in July 1947. BAILEY, Charles Allan WWI Charles was born in Barbados on September 19, 1890. He enlisted with the Army in Winnipeg in August 1914 and served in France and Belgium with the Fort Garry Horse, 2nd Field Company, Canadian Engineers. His final rank was Sergeant. He was discharged in Quebec in July 1919. He was awarded the General Service Medal and the Victory Medal. Charles passed away on July 30, 1938 at the age of 48 and is buried at Ross Lake Cemetery in Flin Flon. BAILEY, Jack Garfield WWII Jack enlisted in the Army and served in Canada and overseas during World War II until his discharge on August 11, 1945. BAILLIE, Clarence WWII Clarence was born in Oak Lake, Manitoba on March 15, 1921. He enlisted in the Army on January 9, 1943 in Winnipeg and served with the Lord Strathcona’s Horse in Europe during World War II. He was discharged on April 16, 1946 in Winnipeg and received the Service Medal. His final rank was Trooper. Clarence married Mellissa Dorothy.
