He enlisted in the Army and served in Canada and France in Special Duty Area. He was awarded the Military Medal and Canadian Forces’ Decoration. He served with NATO, ferried T33 A/C to Turkey and Greece in 1958 and did Search and Rescue from 1964 to 1967. James is a 59-year member of Carman Royal Canadian Legion Branch 18. ROMANSON (PEPER), Anne WWII Anne and John Romanson came to Hodgson, Manitoba from Montreal in 1913. They had eight children, five of whom served in the Military - Marian, Anne, Esther, Jack and Bill. Anne enlisted at Fort Osborne Barracks in July 1945 with the Canadian Women’s Army Corps and took her basic Training in Kitchener, Ontario. She served only in Canada and received her discharge in September 1946. Since 1955, she has lived in Arizona, USA. ROMANSON (MORGAN), Esther WWII Anne and John Romanson came to Hodgson, Manitoba from Montreal in 1913. They had eight children, five of whom served in the Military- Marian, Anne, Esther, Jack and Bill. Esther enlisted on May 11, 1943 at Fort Osborne Barracks in Winnipeg. Her basic training was done in Kitchener, Ontario. After basic training was completed she was reassigned to Fort Osborne Barracks, Winnipeg for a short period. She was then assigned to Camp Shilo, Manitoba #32 Admin. Unit, CWAC. Esther worked in communications for the duration of her Army service. During her stay at Camp Shilo, she married Wayne Morgan. He was serving with the USA Air Force. She received her discharge on October 27, 1945 in Montreal. Later, she resided in Sandy, Utah, USA.
