163 The Royal Canadian Legion MANITOBA & NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO COMMAND www.mbnwo.ca PELLETIER, Archie Joseph WWII Corporal Archie Pelletier enlisted in the RCAF on August 12, 1941. He first took basic training at Brandon then went to No. 2 Wireless in Calgary. From there his training took him to No. 10 Repair Depot in Edmonton, to the Northwest Territories, Whitehorse, Yukon and to Watson Lake, Yukon. He returned to Manitoba and was stationed at Gimli. He was discharged in 1945. Archie resided in St. George, Manitoba. PLISHKA, Thomas “Tom” WWII Tom enlisted in the Royal Canadian Artillery on March 3, 1941 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He served in England, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany as a Gunner. He was not wounded during his active service. Tom was discharged on September 12, 1945. His medals included the 1939-1945 Volunteer Star, the Italy Star, the France and Germany Star, the 1939-1945 Defence Medal, the 1939-1945 War Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. Tom passed away on September 6, 1962. POOLE, Howard WWII Howard was from Bagot, Manitoba, enlisting on December 9, 1942 in Winnipeg. He was a Trooper with the #10DD Canadian Armoured Corps serving in Canada. He was discharged on March 30, 1946.
