He joined the Fort Garry Horse in 1943 and took his advanced training in Orillia, Ontario and his tank gunnery course at Camp Borden, Ontario. He served in England and Holland during WWII and was discharged on April 30, 1946. Eugene has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for over sixty-four years. HENRY, William Brock WWI William was born in 1892 in Princeton, Ontario. He joined the Army during WWI and served as a Lieutenant with the 226th Machine Gun Company in Northern France and Belgium. He was a Life Member of Hartney Legion Branch 26 before he died in 1980. HOAR, Reginald Bickford WWII Reginald joined the Saskatchewan Horse, Sherbrooke Fusiliers in Dundurn, Saskatchewan in July 1940. He served as a Captain with 17 D. Y. RCH (CAOF) in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. He was discharged in Toronto, Ontario in March 1947. He was a member of Russell Legion Branch 159 before he passed away. HETHERINGTON, John W. WWII John was born in 1924 in Belleville, Ontario. He enlisted in 1941 with the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders, 2nd Division, and then transferred to the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, 1st Division. He served in England and saw action in Sicily and Italy, where he was wounded. He carried on with the unit through to Holland after which he spent time recuperating in Deer Lodge Hospital, where he was discharged. John has been a member of Selkirk Legion Branch 42 for more than sixty-four years.
