He was a member of Kendra Legion Branch 12. HAMILTON, Harold WWI Harold was born on October 20, 1891 in the Rural Municipality of Birtle, Manitoba. In August 1915, he enlisted with the 78th Battalion (Winnipeg Grenadiers) but in March 1916, he received his discharge “in consequence of being unfit for further service.” He returned home. Harold was a member of Foxwarren Legion Branch 152 before he died in December 1953. HANNA, Orval G. WWII Orval was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1912. During WWII, he served in Canada and the United Kingdom with the 17th Regiment of the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and with the 102nd Battery. Orval was a member of Fort Garry Legion Branch 90 for thirty-two years before he died in 2005. HAMILTON, John Wilfred WWII Wilfred was born in Foxwarren, Manitoba in 1920. He graduated as a diesel engineer in April 1941 and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in November of that year. After training in Trenton and Toronto, Ontario, he was posted to Jericho Beach, Bella Bella, Smithers, Comox, and Tofino, British Columbia, operating diesel plants. After Sergeant Hamilton lost part of his hand at Bella Bella, he served as a teacher until his honourable discharge in October 1945. Wilfred was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and the War Medal 1939-45. He farmed after returning to the family homestead and was a Life Member of Foxwarren Legion Branch 152 while also serving 50 years on the Executive. He was a member of The Legion for 62 years and served on several community committees. With his wife Marian Newsham, whom he married on June 2, 1945, Wilfred raised four children. He died on April 7, 2008 at the age of 88.
