He joined the Army and served in Belgium and Seaford, England with the Canadian Army Dental Corps, attached to the 4th Canadian Field Ambulance. He received the 1914-15 Star and the Distinguished Service Order. John died in 1974. BOBERG, Herbert Gordon “Chief” WWII Chief was born on June 5, 1917 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He joined the Army and served as a Gunner in the Infantry in Canada, England, France, Holland, and Germany. He later worked as a rougher at the Manitoba Rolling Mill and he was a member of Selkirk Legion Branch 42. Chief died in Selkirk in 1992. BOURNS, Edwin Stanley WWII Edwin was born on his parents’ farm in Cartwright, Manitoba on December 19, 1924. He worked on the family farm until he enlisted in the Army in October 1943 and went overseas in June 1944. He served in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe and saw action in France with the Essex Scottish Regiment. Discharged in March 1946, he returned to the family farm and married Kathleen Brogden. They bought their own farm and raised six children. Edwin took a keen interest in all aspects of farming, community activities, and was also a leader of the 4-H Beef Club. He died suddenly of a heart attack on December 19, 1970 on his 46th birthday. BOUNDS, John M. WWI John was born in England in 1896 and died around 1983. He joined the Army and served in England during World War I. John was a member of Rose Valley Legion Branch 214.
