Merle has been a member of Kenora Legion Branch 12 for over fifty-five years. KRENN, John F. WWII John was born in Wishart, Saskatchewan in 1920 and moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1946. John was a member of Elmwood Legion Branch 9 before he passed away in 1993. LAPWORTH, Alex G. WWII & SPECIAL DUTY AREA Alex was born in Kenora, Ontario in 1915. He served in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps during WWII. Alex was a member of Kenora Legion Branch 12 before he passed away in January 1999. LASELVA, Sergio PEACETIME Sergio was born in Francaville in 1932 and died in 1985. He joined the Navy and served in Italy during WWII. Sergio was a member of Kenora Legion Branch 12 for over twenty years. LAVALLE, Frederick Joseph WWII Frederick was born in St. Laurent, Manitoba in 1920 and died in 1992. He served in the Navy with the Winnipeg Grenadier Guards in Canada, Jamaica and Hong Kong. Frederick was a member of Elmwood Legion Branch 9. LEE, Alexander Alfred WWII Alexander was born in Truro, Nova Scotia in 1910. He joined the Army and served in the 19th Battery (Winnipeg) in Canada and Britain. Alexander was a member of Elmwood Legion Branch 9 before he died in 1984. LOUIE, James WWII James was born in Port Arthur, Ontario in 1920. He joined the Navy and served on HMCS Milltown in the Atlantic Ocean during WWII. He also served in France and Germany. MATHESON, W. F. WWII W. F. Matheson enlisted with the 12th Manitoba Dragoons in Shilo in July 1941 and served in England. Corporal Matheson was discharged in Winnipeg in November 1945. He has been a member of Russell Legion Branch 159. McCALL, George WWII George was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1924. He served in the Army with the 42ndAnti-aircraft Battery in England and Canada. George was a member of Elmwood Legion Branch 9 for forty-five years before he passed away in 1991. McDONALD, John C. M. PEACETIME John was born in 1933 and he passed away in 1989. He served as a navigator in the Royal Canadian Air Force in Canada during peacetime. John was a member of Elmwood Legion Branch 9. McFARLANE, G. H. L. WWII G. H. L. McFarlane joined the Winnipeg Grenadiers in September 1939 and he was discharged there on January 15, 1940 after having served as a Private in Canada. He was a member of Russell Legion Branch 159. MEARS, Len WWII Len was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1919 and passed away in 1996. He served Fort Garry Horse in Canada, England, France and Germany during WWII. Len was a member of Fort Garry Legion Branch 90 for twenty-five years. MEEK, George WWII George was born in Scotland on January 19, 1924. He served with the Air Force out of Goose Bay. George has been a member of Keewatin Legion Branch 13. MILLS, James Frank WWII James was born in Sprague, Manitoba. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force as an aircraft mechanic.
