He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served with 424 Squadron in Canada and Africa, and in Skipton-onSwale, England. Lynnroy was a member of Birtle Legion Branch 55 for twentyeight years before he died in 1973. WEAVER, Charles Gordon WWII Charles was born in Magnet, Manitoba on January 24, 1924. He joined the Army in 1940 and took his basic training in Ontario at Camp Borden, in Nova Scotia at Camp Aldershot and Camp Debert, as well as in St. John’s, Newfoundland. He served with the Lake Superior Regiment in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. Charles was discharged on November 19, 1945. WEAVER, Drue Elden WWII Drue was born in 1922 in Magnet, Manitoba. He joined the Army in Winnipeg on May 27, 1940 and served as a Private with the Lake Superior Regiment in Canada, England and Europe. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, the France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal, and the 1939-45 Star. He was discharged on October 13, 1945 in Winnipeg. Drue passed away in 1992. WEAVER, David Nelson WWII David was born in Freedale, Manitoba in 1919. He took his basic training at the Fort Garry Barracks in Winnipeg, then went on to Ontario and from there, was sent overseas. He served in England, Belgium, and Holland as a dispatch rider and was at the Beach of Normandy. David was wounded, recovered and served until 1945, when he returned to Winnipeg. He was a member of Lawrence Legion Branch 87 (Rorketon) before he died in 1993. David is buried in the Dauphin Cemetery in the crematorium.
