He joined the Army and served with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry and 5 Div. HQ in England, Sicily, Italy, Belgium, France, and Holland. He has been a member of Lawrence Legion Branch 87 for over sixty-four years. ROBERTS, Patricia R. PEACETIME Patricia was born in Pilot Mound, Manitoba in 1939. She joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Canada as a Recreation & Physical Education Specialist. Patricia was a member of Ontario’s Essex Legion Branch 201 for twenty-five years. She died in 1999. ROBINSON, William Hugh “Robby” WWII Robby was born in 1934 in Dauphin, Manitoba. In 1947, he moved with his family to Surrey, British Columbia, where he continued his education. He joined 437 Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Canada for 33 years. He and his wife, Janet (Des Roches), did not have a family. He died of cancer in 1996 in Belleville, Ontario. Robby had been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch in Trenton, Ontario. ROBINSON, Gordon Clifford WWII Gordon was born in 1911 in Westmeath Township, Beachburg, Ontario and he moved to Dauphin, Manitoba with his family when he was five years old. He joined the Royal Winnipeg Rifles in 1940 and served as a Sergeant on the front lines in Europe during WWII. In 1947, he moved his family to Surrey, British Columbia, where he was employed with West Coast Trailers Co. Gordon and his wife Mae (Cooke) raised two sons and one daughter. After his retirement, he resided in Abbotsford and in Chilliwack, British Columbia. Later, he moved to Powell River, British Columbia, where he died in 2004 at the age of 92. Gordon was a member of British Columbia’s Whalley Legion Branch 229 for fifty-five years.
