Merritt enlisted in the Army in Winnipeg in August 1940 and served in Italy and Holland with the 17th Field Artillery. Lance Bombardier Merritt was discharged in Vancouver in October 1945. He has been a member of Russell Legion Branch 159. MICLASH, George E. WWII George was born in Kenora, Ontario in 1926. During World War II, George joined the Army and served in the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery (A3) at Shilo, Manitoba. MILLER, Edward A. WWII Edward joined the Seaforth Highlanders in Calgary in October 1943 and was discharged there in October 1945 after having served in Canada and England. Corporal Miller received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. He has been a member of Russell Legion Branch 159. MILLAR, Gary W. PEACETIME Gary was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1940. He served with the Royal Canadian Navy TAS Branch as a diver. Gary has been a member of Fort Garry Legion Branch 90 for more than ten years.
