In June 1940, he enlisted with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in Winnipeg. He was discharged there in November 1945 after having served in Italy and Northwest Europe. Harley received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. ANDERSON, Harold G. “Hal” WWII Hal was born in 1921. The family moved to Pine Falls, MB in 1927, where he attended school and later worked for the Manitoba Paper Company. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as a Warrant Officer in Canada with #14 Squadron but died on April 1, 1943 at the age of 22. Hal is commemorated at Fort Richardson Post Cemetery in Alaska and Harold Anderson Lake, south of Swampy Lake, was named after him in 1995. ANDERSON, William C. WWI William was born in 1895 in Silverton, Manitoba and died in 1958. On March 6, 1916, he enlisted with the 107th Battalion, 1st C.M.R., serving in France. Private Anderson was discharged in February 1919. He was a member of Russell Legion Branch 159. ANDERSON, John W. WWI John was born in Silverton, Manitoba and he died in 1949. He enlisted in the Army in February 1916 and was discharged in April 1919. Private Anderson served with the 226th and 16th in France where he was wounded in both legs. He was a member of Russel Legion Branch 159.
