He enlisted in the Canadian Army and served in Holland with the Lake Superior Regiment during World War II. He died on September 6, 1971. MEADOWS, Amy V. WWII Amy was born in the Endcliffe District of Manitoba. In December 1942, she enlisted with the Women’s Royal Canadian Naval Service in Galt, Ontario and served in Canada until her discharge in November 1945 at HMCS Chippawa in Winnipeg. Amy has been a member of Russell Legion Branch 159. MEANY, Joseph W. KOREA Joseph was born in Haileybury, Ontario in 1930. He enlisted in the Army and served with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Airborne in Canada, Korea and Japan. He was awarded the United Nations Service Medal for Korea and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Joseph has been a member of Atikokan Legion Branch 145 for more than thirty-six years. MEANY, Donald C. SPECIAL DUTY AREA Donald was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario in 1935. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces and served in Canada with the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals. He was awarded the NATO Special Forces Medal. Donald has been a member of Atikokan Legion Branch 145 for more than thirty-seven years.
