He joined the Army and served with the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders in England, France, and Holland. He was a member of Pilot Mound Legion Branch 62 for twenty years. Clark died in 1965. McKINNON, John Melvin WWII John enlisted in Winnipeg in July 1940 and was discharged there in September 1945. He served as a Private in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps in England and Western Europe. John has been a member of Russell Legion Branch 159. McLAY, William WWII William was born in Keewatin, Ontario in 1910 and passed away in 2001. He served in the Army with the Royal Canadian Engineers in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe during World War II. William was a member of Keewatin Legion Branch 13 for fifty-five years. McLAREN, William Hugh “Bill” WWII Bill was born in Heward, Saskatchewan on March 4, 1909. In December 1941, he enlisted in the Army and did his basic training in Sussex, New Brunswick. He served as a Lance Corporal in the 70th Field Battery Anti-aircraft Unit (heavy artillery) until the end of World War II, serving in Canada, England, Holland, Belgium, France and Germany. Bill was a 55-year member and Past President of Grandview Legion Branch 14 until his death in 1989.
