95 The Royal Canadian Legion MANITOBA & NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO COMMAND www.mbnwo.ca KLIPPENSTEIN, John WWII John was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1923 and died in 1992. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force as an Air Frame mechanic in Canada and England. John was a member of Fort Garry Legion Branch 90 for forty-four years. KOOIMAN, Gerard T. “Gerry” WWII Gerry was born in Zevenhoven, The Netherlands in 1925. During WWII, he was on active military service as a Private with the Royal Netherlands Army, 3rd AntiAircraft Regiment, from May 7, 1946 until January 7, 1948, and again from April 16–28, 1951 and December 8–23, 1952. Gerry was discharged on October 1, 1965 due to compulsory military service. He was a member of Transcona Legion Branch 7 for twenty years and was also with the Belgium Legion. Gerry passed away on May 16, 2009. KREAMER, Lloyd WWII Lloyd was born in Neche, North Dakota in 1921. He enlisted with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry in September 1939 and went to England with the 1st Division in December. He saw action in Sicily and Italy where he was wounded, and received the Military Medal. They continued on to France, Germany and Holland. Lloyd was discharged in 1945 after which he farmed in the Netley area of Manitoba. He has been a member of Selkirk Legion Branch 42 and Winnipeg Beach Legion Branch 61 for a total of fifty-four years. KOZUN, John WWII John was born in Poland in 1927. He joined the Canadian Army and served in the Infantry in Canada and also trained for the War in Japan. John was a member of Selkirk Legion Branch 42 for twenty years.
