He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served with 440 Squadron in Canada and Great Britain. James was killed in action in England in 1944. GOHN, Leslie L. WWII Leslie was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on September 1, 1915. He enlisted in the Army in 1942 or 1943 and served as a mechanic in Aldershot, England, possibly with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps. He returned to Canada in 1946. Leslie was a member of General Lipsett Legion Branch 99 and he passed away on November 17, 1997. GOOD, James Arthur “Claude” WWII Claude was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1925. He joined the Canadian Navy in 1944, took his basic training in Winnipeg and was then transferred to St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, and then to Halifax, Nova Scotia. After his discharge in 1946, he moved to Buffalo Narrows, Saskatchewan and was a Forest Ranger. He then went to Stony Rapids where he worked as a Radio Communications Officer for 22 years. In 1981, he transferred to Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan and he retired two years later, staying in that same town. Claude was a member of Stonewall Legion Branch 52 and passed away in 2003 at the Saskatoon Cancer Clinic. He raised two sons with his wife, Rose Chaffee. GOOD, Gerald Bertram “Jay” WWII Jay was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1918. He joined the Army and served with the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps in England, France, Germany, Holland, Belgium and also participated in the invasion of Sicily. After his discharge in 1946, he worked for Gabe Galoudy in Brunkild as a welder, then in Winnipeg for Watson Wire Works, and for Molson Brewery until he retired. He moved back to his childhood town of Woodlands (Oak Park Lodge) and from there went to Winnipeg where he resided in Sprucewood Lodge in Balmoral. Jay spent his last years in Goodwin Lodge in Teulon where he passed away on August 21, 1996. He raised two children with his wife, Beatrice Aune of Elm Creek, who died suddenly in 1965. Jay was a member of Stonewall Legion Branch 52.
