He served with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, Cross Rifles and Crown Sharp Shooters at Camp Shilo, Manitoba as well as at Camp Plauche in New Orleans, USA. James received ribbons for his service overseas and has been a member of St. James Legion Branch 4 for ten years. FOXTON, William M. WWII William was born in Oakburn, Manitoba in 1920. He joined the Royal Canadian Service Corps, 1st Field Ambulance, 2nd Division, and served in Europe and England. William was a member of the Minnedosa Legion in the 1950s. FROOM, Alison Greig WWI Alison was born in Greenridge, Manitoba on September 3, 1894. During WWI, he enlisted in Winnipeg with the 76th Battery, Canadian Field Artillery, on November 19, 1917 at the age of 23. Since his Dad had taught him to make bread at home, he assisted as cook on the army base. He served overseas with the 222 Battalion in France in 1918. On February 26, 1918, he was admitted to the London General Hospital with Rheumatic Fever. He was discharged from service in Halifax on July 13, 1919 with the rank of Corporal. He was a member of Dominion City Legion Branch 160 for twenty-seven years. Alison died in 1974. FRIESEN, Jacob WWII Jacob was born in Morris, Manitoba in 1924. He joined the Army and served in Canada with the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps during World War II. Jacob has been a member of Fort Garry Legion Branch 90 for twenty-five years.
