In June 1940, he enlisted with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in Winnipeg. He was discharged there in November 1945 after having served in Italy and North West Europe. Harley received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. ANDERSON, John A. WWII John was born in 1921. During World War II, he joined the Army and served in England and Europe with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles and the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada. He was a member of Manitou Legion Branch 21. AUBUCHON, Romeo G. WWII Romeo was born in 1921 in Matagami, Quebec. He served in the Army in Canada, France, Belgium, and Ireland with a unit responsible for service calls. Romeo has been a member of Kenora Legion Branch 12 for thirty-six years. BRYER, Jack WWII Jack was born in Russell, Manitoba in 1916. He joined the Army in November 1942, served as a Lance Corporal with the Canadian Provost Corps in Canada, England and Continental Europe, and was discharged in March 1946. A member of Russell Legion Branch 159 for forty-five years, Jack died in 2002. BURNETT, Charles C. WWII & KOREA Charles was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in August 1921 and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, serving in Canada. He has been a member of Branch # 9 of The Royal Canadian Legion for forty-five years. CLOUGH, John R. PEACETIME John was born in Strathroy, Ontario in 1930 and enlisted in February 1949 with the Royal Canadian Engineers and the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was discharged in February 1970. John has been a member of Russell Legion Branch 159 for forty years. DENNY, Garnett A. WWI Garnett was born in 1899 in Kingston, Ontario. He joined the Army and served in World War I. Garnett was a member of Saskatchewan’s Flaxcombe Legion Branch 98 for sixteen years. He died in 1964. DYCK, Jacob D. WWII Jacob was born in Russia in 1925. He joined the Army and served with the Corps in World War II. EPP, Henry WWII Henry was born in Russia in 1922. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Canada during the Second World War. Henry passed away in 2005. GARDNER, John WWII John was born in Boissevain, Manitoba in 1922. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served with 106 Squadron RAF in Canada, England and Holland where he was killed in action in 1942. GLADSTONE, Robert W. WWII Robert was born in Manitoba’s Boissevain area in 1919. He joined the Army and served with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry in Canada, Great Britain, Holland, and Italy. Robert was a member of Boissevain and Cartwright Legion Branches for forty-eight years before he died in 1993. HAMIL, Leonard A. KOREA Leonard was born in Hudson, Ontario in 1928 and served in Canada during the Korean War. He was a member of Kendra Legion Branch 12. No more information is available. HARVEY, Howard W. Howard died in 2008. HARZING, Nicholas Antonius PEACETIME Nicholas was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1982. He served as a Private with the 1st Service Battalion from 2008 after doing his basic training in St. Jean, Quebec. Nicholas is now stationed at Canadian Forces Base Edmonton. HOLDITCH, George Lawrence WWI George was born in Boissevain, Manitoba in 1891. He enlisted in the Army and served with the Royal Canadian Dragoons in Canada, Great Britain and France.
