He joined the Army and served during World War II with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles in Canada, Britain, and Northwest Europe. In 1945, Kasimer died in Germany in a prisoner of war camp. TUFTS, Laurence C. WWII Laurence, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Tufts, was born in Fairfax, Manitoba in 1916. During World War II, he joined the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders and served as a Lance Corporal in Canada, England and in France where he was wounded. Laurence was a member of Minto Legion Branch 201 before he passed away in 1987. TULLY, Frederick Charles WWII Frederick was born in Marquette, Manitoba in 1925. He joined the Army and served as a Corporal in the Engineers Unit in England and Continental Europe. He was awarded the France and Germany Star, the War Medal 1939-45, the Defence Medal, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp. He has been a member of Winnipeg Legion Branch 1 for fifty-two years. TUFTS, Mervin J. WWII Mervin was born in Fairfax, Manitoba in 1918. He joined the Army and served with the Manitoba Dragoons, 18th Armoured Car Regiment, in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. He was a member of Shoal Lake Legion Branch 72. Mervin died in 1971.
