John has been a member of the Selkirk Legion Branch 42 for thirty years. No additional information is available. SHARESKI, Della WWII Della was born in Morden, Manitoba in 1920. She joined the Army and served in Canada with the Royal Canadian Women’s Army Corps during World War II. SHEPPARD, Daniel Francis LeRoy WWII Daniel was born on February 22, 1921 in Toronto, ON. He joined the Army on July 27, 1942 and trained in Canada until November 1943 when he sailed for the UK. On June 6, 1944, he was a rifleman in the Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada when he disembarked at Gold Beach as part of the first wave of troops to assault the Nan White sector of Juno Beach, at Bernières-sur-Mer. He also served in Holland and Germany before being discharged on February 5, 1946. He received the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, and the War Medal 1939-45. After the war, he became an Ontario Provincial Police Officer and retired as a Corporal in 1983 from the Emo detachment. Daniel was a member of Midland Legion Branch 80 and Emo Legion Branch 99 for a total of thirty-seven years. He died on March 13, 2002. SHARP, Floyd L. WWII Floyd was born in Melfort, Saskatchewan in 1923. He joined the Army and served in Canada, Great Britain, Central Mediterranean, France, Holland and Germany. He was a member of Boissevain Legion Branch 10 for twenty-eight years. Floyd died in 1988.
