He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as Fighter Control Operator (FCO) Radar in Canada. He has been a member of Killarney Legion Branch 25 for ten years. ROLFE, Thomas Jack WWII Thomas was born in Indian Head, Saskatchewan. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Canada and overseas during World War II. Thomas has been a member of Beauséjour Legion Branch 132 for more than forty years. ROSS, Allan Lawrence WWII Allan was born in Treherne, Manitoba in 1918. He trained to be a pilot at Patricia Bay, Vancouver Island and at Claresholm, Alberta, where he received his wings. He went overseas on HMS Chitral in 1941 and served in England as a Flight Lieutenant. He flew Hampden and Halifax planes on his first tour with 408 Goose Squadron and Lancasters on his second tour with 428 Ghost Squadron. When the war ended, he flew his Canadian-built Lancaster Bomber KB882 with his 7member crew aboard back to Canada on June 10, 1945. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal in March 1943 by King George VI at Buckingham Palace and also received the Distinguished Flying Cross in June 1945, after he completed his second tour of bombing operations. Allan was a member of Victoria Legion Branch 121 for thirty years. He died in 1995. ROSKI, Tony WWII Tony was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as a pilot in England during World War II. The exact date of his death is not known except that he was killed in action somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean in the 1940s. A lake in Northern Manitoba was named after him in his memory.
