He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as an Aero Engine mechanic in Brandon, St. Thomas, Moose Jaw, Estevan, Davidson, Vancouver, Patricia Bay and Port Hardy from 1939-1946. Lance Corporal Ramsey was awarded the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. He was a member of Roseau Valley Legion Branch 160 and he died in 2005. RANSOM, Alan H. WWII Alan was born in Mountainside, Manitoba in 1916. He joined the Army and served during World War II with the Royal Canadian Artillery in Canada, England, Sicily and Italy where he was killed in action in 1944. REA, Lyal WWI Lyal was born in Hartney, Manitoba. He joined the 79th Battalion and was drafted in the 43rd Cameron Highlanders, serving in France at Ypres, Hill 60 and the Somme during World War I. He was wounded on September 16, 1916 at the Somme and became a prisoner at the Clausthal Officers’ Internment Camp until Armistice. No other information was available. RAUSCH, William A. WWII & PEACETIME William was born in Rosenfeld, Manitoba in 1921. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Winnipeg with 8 R. D.; in England with #1 C.O.P.D.; in Metz, France with Air Division Headquarters; and in Germany with #1 Air Division Wing. William was a member of Calgary’s Kensington Legion Branch 264 for fortyeight years before he passed away in 2006.
