His parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Morgan of Stockton, had five sons who served in His Majesty’s service. Harold joined the Army and served as a Gunner during World War II. He was a member of Virden Legion Branch 8 and he died in 1993. MORRISON, John L. WWII John was born in Russell, Manitoba in 1924. He enlisted with the Saskatoon Light Infantry, 1st Division, and served at HCITR England Headquarters, Army TroopsHolland, COF at Varel, Germany during World War II. He was a recipient of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal in 2003. He also received the Meritorious Service Medal in 1996. John was Past Zone Commander of Legion Branch 33, and was a member of the Hartney Legion Branch 26 for sixty years as well as its Past President and Secretary/Treasurer from 1985-2005). John passed away in 2006. MORROW (VINCELETTE), Joyce I. WWII Joyce was born in 1918 on the family farm in Ingleside, south of Oakville, Manitoba, the eldest daughter born to Fred and Frances Morrow. She was one of six children and one of three who would enlist to serve her country. She joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in Canada. After her discharge, Joyce married Donald Vincelette in 1943 and moved to California. They raised one son and would come home for an occasional visit. She was honoured in a special Remembrance Day ceremony in 2005 in Oakville, as were her sister, Jean and brother, Wally. Joyce died in 1972. MORROW (VINCELETTE), Jean D. WWII Jean was born in in 1920 on the family farm in Ingleside, south of Oakville, Manitoba, the second oldest daughter born to Fred and Frances Morrow. She was one of six children and one of three who would enlist to serve her country. She joined the Army in 1943 and spent most of her tour in Nova Scotia, serving with the Royal Canadian Women’s Army Corps. When she returned home, she married Hubert Vincelette in 1946, moved to Portage la Prairie and raised four children. She was very proficient in oil painting and writing poetry, most of which she gave away to family and friends. On Remembrance Day in 2005, in Oakville, she and her sister, Joyce and brother, Wally, were honoured by the community in a special ceremony for their service in WWII. Jean was a member of Portage la Prairie Legion Branch 65 and she died in 2006.
