127 The Royal Canadian Legion MANITOBA & NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO COMMAND www.mbnwo.ca McKAY, Winram Gorden “Win” WWII Win was born in Pilot Mound, Manitoba in 1910. He joined the Army in Winnipeg on August 10, 1944 and trained in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He went overseas on the troop ship, Ile de France, and served during WWII with the Royal Canadian Signal Corps in Canada, England, Holland, and Belgium. Discharged on April 12, 1946, Win returned with his wife, Vi, and their son to Pilot Mound where he worked for the Manitoba Telephone System until his retirement in 1976. He was a member of Pilot Mound Legion Branch 62 for forty-six years before he passed away in Selkirk, Manitoba in 1990 at age 80. McKINNEY, Clifton R. WWI Clifton was born in Boissevain, Manitoba in 1895. He joined the Army and served in England during World War I. Clifton was a member of Boissevain Legion Branch 10 before he died in 1998. McLEAN, Milton E. WWII Milton was born in rural Pilot Mound, Manitoba in 1926. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served as a Rear Gunner with Bomber Command “Wellington” in England during World War II. He has been a Life member of Pilot Mound Legion Branch 62 for sixty-one years. McKINNEY, W. Robert PEACETIME W. Robert was born in Boissevain, Manitoba in 1938. He joined the Army and served during peacetime with the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals in Canada and Germany. He has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for thirty-six years, namely at the St. James Legion Branch 1, Grand Prairie Legion Branch 54 and Boissevain Legion Branch 10.
