He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and served in India with Squadron 354. Rod was involved in rescuing England’s Prince Edward from a raging storm while the Prince was at sea. He was killed in action over the Bay of Bengal in 1945. LINCOLN, Glen A. WWII Glen was born to John and Martha Lincoln in 1919 in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. He joined the war effort and served as a Corporal with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry in Manitoba and was sent overseas to England. Glen was killed in November 1940 while on active duty and unfortunately, was the first Second World War casualty for the town of Sioux Lookout. LOCKERBY, John A. WWII John was born on May 2, 1917 in Neelin, Manitoba. He went to school there and later worked on the farm. In 1942, John went into the Army and was stationed at Portage la Prairie, Manitoba; Kingston, Ontario; and Vancouver, British Columbia. He had a motorcycle accident which resulted in the loss of sight in one eye so he was discharged from the army in 1944. John returned home and farmed until 1975 when he retired to live in Baldur. He raised a family of seven with his wife, Fern Scott, whom he married in 1940. John was a member of Cartwright-Mather Legion Branch 86 for sixteen years and died in 2002. LINDSAY, George D. C. WWI George was born in 1887 on Palmerston Road in Dublin, Ireland. He joined the Army and served in England and France with the machine gun section of 184 Battery. He received awards for Bravery in the Field as well as three other badges. George was a member of Boissevain Legion Branch 10 before he died in 1971.
