WWII Geoffrey was born in Norfolk, United Kingdom in 1911 and enlisted in Winnipeg in June 1940 with the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps. He was discharged there in October 1945 after having served in the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Holland, Italy and Germany. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, the 1939-45 Star, the Italy Star, the Defence Medal and the France and Germany Star. Geoffrey passed away in 1985. FLEMING, Raymond J. WWII Raymond was born in Winnipegosis, Manitoba on March 24, 1922. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps on April 22, 1941 and was sent overseas in June of that year. He landed in Greenock, Scotland. On October 25, 1943, he was medically discharged with the rank of Lance Corporal. He married Lena Brown with whom he had four sons, John, Ivan, Raymond and Harold. Raymond had been a member of the Winnipegosis and Dauphin Branches of The Royal Canadian Legion for over fifty years when he passed away at Winnipegosis on September 28, 1998. FOORD, Benjamin James WWII Benjamin was born in Archie, MB on February 5, 1920 and enlisted in the RCAF in Winnipeg in August 1940. Trained as a gunner, he served at Branch #119 Squadron North Sydney, NS from October 1940 until April 1942. He received his pilot’s wings in February 1943 then went to # 8 Air Observer School QC until July 1944. He was overseas from May to July 1945 at # 18 (P) AFV England and at # 24 OUT Honeybourne. Home by January 1946, he was discharged then moved to Northern Manitoba in 1947. He married Juliana Kazinczy in 1949 and they raised two sons. Ben received his 55-year member pin from RCL Snow Lake Branch #241. FLEMING, Thomas C. WWII Thomas was born in Winnipegosis, Manitoba on June 11, 1920. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps and was sent overseas in June 1941, landing in Greenock, Scotland. He served as a Private in the UK, the Central Mediterranean area and in Continental Europe. He was discharged on January 22, 1946. While in England, Tom met his wife, Mary Roe, in Manchester and they were married on March 6, 1947 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They had five children, Linda, Michael, Douglas, Susan and Caroline. Tom passed away at Winnipegosis on September 20, 2002. He had been a member of the Winnipegosis and Dauphin Branches of The Royal Canadian Legion.
