WWII David was born in Ninga, Manitoba in 1911 and joined “B” Company, Canadian Sub Workshop, Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers with the rank of Craftsman, serving in Canada and the United Kingdom. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp. David passed away in 1981 and had been a member of the Boissevain Branch #10 of The Royal Canadian Legion for over twenty years. DENNY, Malcolm G. KOREA & PEACETIME & SPECIAL AREA DUTY Malcolm was born in Killarney, Manitoba in 1961. He joined the 3 Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, 2 Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, 2 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group, 10 Tactical Air Group, Intelligence Branch and served in West Germany, Cyprus, Kosovo, Bosnia (Herzegovina), Afghanistan (Kabul/Kandahar), Sri Lanka and Canada. He received the SouthWest Asia Service Medal, the Canadian Forces Decoration 1, the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus Medal, the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal, the United NATO Kosovo Ribbon, the General Service Star and the Special Service Medal/Humanitarian/NATO Bar. DE VULDER, Maurice WWII Maurice was born in Belgium in 1923 and joined the Special Air Service at age 18. Trained at Cornwall, ON, Joliette, QC and Manchester, EN, he later joined a ground contingent as part of a coalition to apprehend fleeing Germans, many of whom were hanged after the War Crime Trials at Nuremberg. The war ended for him when he drove through Holland to get the criminals. After the war, he continued to perform counter-intelligence work and adjusted to civilian life but he missed the camaraderie of his group. Only they could understand what he had gone through, as he couldn’t talk to others about the hardships, horror and death. Maurice has been a member of the Atikokan Branch #145 for thirteen years. DE VOS, Marcel A.H. WWII Marcel was born In Swan Lake, Manitoba in 1926 and joined the Navy, serving on the High Seas on HMCS Stadacona and HMCS Naden. He passed away in 1973 and had been a member of the Norwood-St. Boniface Branch of The Royal Canadian Legion for over twenty-five years.
