WWII Roy was born in Boissevain, Manitoba in 1921 and trained for four years in Chilliwack, British Columbia with the Royal Engineers as a motorcycle instructor. He passed away in 2008 and had been a member of the Souris Branch #60 of The Royal Canadian Legion for sixty-two years. CHESTNUT, Millar J. WWII Millar was born in Terence, Manitoba in 1917 and joined the 70th Battery Royal Canadian Artillery, serving in Canada, the UK, France and Germany. He passed away in 1988 and was a member of the Souris Branch #60 of The Royal Canadian Legion and then transferred to the #79 Oak Lake Branch. CHRISTIANSON, Archibald A. WWII Archibald was born in Elva, Manitoba in 1922 and joined the RCAF on December 12, 1942. He was posted at Lachine, QC Manning Depot for basic training, to McGill and Victoriaville for further training and to Brantford, ON for service flying, receiving his pilot’s wings on August 10, 1944. On October 9th, he left Halifax for Greenock, Scotland, went to Bournemouth, England for active service then was posted at Wales, near Cardiff. On February 21st, he received his Flight Engineer Wings and went to Topcliffe, Yorkshire for operation training and heavy conversion. On May 2nd, he joined the Alouette Squadron at Tholthorpe, training to fly a Lancaster. Archibald passed away in 2008 and was a member of RCL Souris Branch #60 for thirty-eight years. CHOLOSKY, Joseph WWII Joseph was born in Selkirk, Manitoba in 1925 and enlisted in the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders, Fort Garry Horse 3rd North Shore Regiment in November 1943 in Winnipeg at the Fort Osborne Barracks. Joseph has served with the Occupation Army in Canada, England, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Joseph has been a member of the Selkirk Branch #42 of The Royal Canadian Legion for fifty-three years.
