While in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1915, he enlisted as a Private with the 79th Cameron Highlanders of Canada and served in England and France with the 43rd Battalion Canadian Infantry. Leonard was killed in action in France on August 16, 1918 and is buried at the Royal New British Cemetery. BOYLE, Robert H. WWII & SPECIAL AREA DUTY Robert was born in Canada in 1920 and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, 424 Squadron, Flight Officer and 405 Squadron, Flight Engineer. He served in Canada, England and the European Theatre. Robert passed away in 2007 and was a member of the Fort Garry Branch #90 of The Royal Canadian Legion. BRIGGS, Mervin (Bud) WWII Mervin was born in Deloraine, Manitoba in 1923 and joined the Navy. He served in the North Atlantic on HMCS Arvida (Corvette class) and HMCS Rockcliffe (Algerine class) doing convoy duty as an Able Seaman. Mervin has been a member of the Hartney Branch #26 of The Royal Canadian Legion for sixty-two years. BRETECHER, Charles WWII Charles was born in Toutes Aides, Manitoba and joined the Army. When he passed away in 2002, Charles had been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #87 for thirty-five years. No additional information is available.
