He joined the 226th Battalion, Home Guard Canada, serving in England. He passed away in 1989 and had been a member of the Selkirk Branch # 42 of The Royal Canadian Legion. WHEELER, Harold WWII Harold was born in Dand, Manitoba in 1923. He joined the 7th Canadian Infantry Brigade and 3rd Division Royal Canadian Army Service Corps and served in Canada, England, Scotland, France, Holland, Belgium and Germany. Upon his arrival in France, his job was to deliver ammo from the beach to the infantry and at the time he was wounded, he was a dispatch rider with the 7th Canadian Infantry Brigade. Harold has been a member of the Minto Branch #302 of The Royal Canadian Legion for twenty years. WHITTINGTON, James J.M.W. WWII & SPECIAL AREA DUTY James was born in Brandon, Manitoba in 1922. He joined the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic and served in Seal Island, British Columbia. He also served with the Secret Service of Canada in British Columbia. James passed away in 1993 and had been a member of the Carberry Branch #153 for several years. WHITMER, Clifford Roderick (Roy) WWII Clifford was born in Millwood, Manitoba in 1918 and enlisted in October 1941 with the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was discharged in October 1945 after having served on the west coast of Canada. A recipient of the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, Clifford passed away in 1984.
