He worked in a hardware business with his brother for seven years and then was employed with the Department of Civil Defence in Victoria, BC for eighteen years. He married June Widdicombe in 1941 and had two daughters and four grandchildren. Wilbert had been a member of RCL Foxwarren Branch #152 of for seven years when he passed away in 1973.
