(Bill) WWII Bill was born in Cypress River, Manitoba on March 4, 1912, the oldest of four brothers to join the Canadian Forces. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1942 and was stationed at No. 2 Construction and Maintenance Unit in Winnipeg. After his discharge, Bill returned to Pine Falls to work for the Abitibi Paper Company as an electrical foreman. His sudden death on a hunting trip in 1974 ended the life of an ardent hunter and fisherman. Bill was active in community affairs, hockey, baseball, and curling and represented the province at the National Legion Curling Championships. He is survived by his two sons and their families. His wife, Min, passed away in 2001. McKAY, Norman Hugh WWII Norman was born in Pilot Mound, Manitoba in 1924 and joined the Royal Regiment of Canada, serving in England, France and Normandy. He was killed in action in France in 1944 and is buried at Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian War Cemetery in Calvados, France. McLENNAN, R. Cameron WWI & WWII Cameron enlisted with the Canadian Engineers, Royal Canadian Artillery in January 1916 and was discharged there in 1919. He also enlisted in November 1941 with the Royal Canadian Air Force in Winnipeg and again was discharged there in January, 1945. Cameron served in Canada, England, France and Belgium and received the British War Medal, the Victory Medal and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Cameron passed away in 1960 and was a member of the Russell Branch #159 of The Royal Canadian Legion. McLENNAN, Glen M. WWII Glen joined the Fort Garry Horse Regiment in Russell, Manitoba in June 1941 and was discharged in Winnipeg in December 1945 after having served in Canada, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He received the 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and the Defence Medal. Glen passed away in 1995.
