She enlisted in the Canadian Women’s Army Corps in February 1944 and trained at Vermilion, Alberta. She also trained in Winnipeg and worked in the Administrative Unit before going on to Camp Shilo, Manitoba in June 1944. Audrey was discharged in October 1945 after which she taught school. She passed away in 2001. MacLEAN, Cameron Roy WWII Cameron was born in Sperling, Manitoba on February 13, 1917 and received his education there. Before enlisting, Cameron worked in the district of North Antler. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve in April 1942 and on completion of training, was on Atlantic duty on the destroyers Annapolis and Dundas. He was discharged in November 1945 and later worked with Canada Packers Limited. Cameron passed away in 2002. MacLEAN, Douglas John WWII Douglas was born on October 16, 1919 in Sperling, Manitoba where he received his education. He enlisted with the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve in 1941 and trained at Esquimalt before going overseas in January 1942. He was loaned to the Royal Navy and served on the destroyer Ithuriel, which was sunk near Malta. Serving overseas for a second time, Douglas also served on the Newfoundland and later on the Algonquin, sailing from Halifax via the Panama Canal to duty in the Pacific. He was discharged in November 1945 and passed away in 1998. MacLEAN, Clifford George WWII Clifford was born in Sperling, Manitoba on December 20, 1922 and was educated there. He worked in the North Antler district before enlisting with the Royal Canadian Artillery in January 1943. After training in Winnipeg and Port Elkins, he went overseas in June 1943 then went to France on D-Day. He was wounded in September of 1944 and was hospitalized for several weeks after which he worked with the Postal Corps while stationed in England. Clifford passed away in 2001.
