He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force LAC in 1941 and went overseas on February 12, 1943. He celebrated his 20th birthday in Great Britain shortly after arriving there. He passed away in 1981. DALMAN, Norman Arthur “Dolly” WWII Norman was born in Selkirk, Manitoba, on April 9, 1920. He joined the Royal Canadian Engineers 20th Field Company Regiment, serving in Canada, England, Normandy, France, Belgium and Holland. He enjoyed his three return trips to Holland, one of which was for the dedication of a monument to his regiment in Arnhem. Traditionally on Remembrance Day, Norman got together with his brother, Gordon, and cousins, Richard and Herb, to reminisce. When he returned from overseas, the Federal Government employed him working at the Air Force Base in Gimli and later at Minto Armouries in Winnipeg. He retired at age 65. Norman received the 1939-1945 Star, the France/Germany Star, the Defence Medal, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Silver Clasp, and the Maple Leaf Emblem War Medal 1939-1945. He passed away on December 3, 2008, and had been a member of the Selkirk Branch #42 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 42 years. DELORME, John T. WWI John was born in Pilot Mound, Manitoba, in 1895. He joined the 1st Depot Battalion on November 11, 1917. No additional information is available. DAVIES, William T. W. WWII William was born in Welwyn, SK, in 1915. He enlisted in October 1940 with the Canadian Provost Corps serving in the United Kingdom. He was discharged in January 1946. William had been a member of Russell Branch #159 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 57 years before he passed away in 2007.
