He joined at Osbourne Barracks in Winnipeg, MB, in October 1943 and was discharged from the Army to join the Royal Canadian Air Force in January 1944 and transferred to #6FTS Flying School in Dunville, ON, where he met pilot trainees from Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain. He was sent to Victoriaville, PQ, and during the last week of the course was told that fighter pilots were no longer needed. He chose a Wireless Gunner Course and was sent to Tuxedo Park (Winnipeg), then on to Calgary and completed at No. 2 Wireless School Squadron #104. On May 1, 1945, he was put on the Reserve List for Occupation Forces and received his discharge from the Royal Canadian Air Force on October 26, 1946. Walter married Mildred Fredrickson of Bergland, Ontario, and raised three children and moved to Atikokan in 1950 and built a retail clothing store. Walter has been a member of the Atikokan Branch #145 for 61 years. BIALLY, John WWII John was born in the Franklin Municipality, Manitoba, on June 22, 1918. He joined the Army and served during World War Two. He passed away on February 24, 2006. No additional information is available. BILINSKI, Rudolph R. WWII Rudolph was born in Brandon, Manitoba, in 1922. He joined the Fort Garry Horse Armoured Carrier Regiment of Canada and served in England and Europe. He passed away in 2001 and was a member of the Brandon Branch #3 of The Royal Canadian Legion. BICKERTON, William H. PEACETIME William was born in Elkhorn, Manitoba, in 1936. He joined the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry serving in Canada from March 1956 to March 1959 and with the 2nd Battalion PPCLI Airborne in May 1957. He has been a member of the Boissevain Branch #10 of The Royal Canadian Legion for 33 years.
