1 www.mbnwo.ca On 18 February 2010, Comrade John Babcock, the last known Canadian Veteran of WWI and Honorary Life Member of The Royal Canadian Legion, passed away. He was 109. His passing has marked The End of an Era. It is our honour to recognize those who served their country and it is The Legion’s duty to keep their memories alive. With this I am very pleased to present our very first Military Service Recognition Book from the Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario Command. Our Provincial Command would like to thank all those who submitted information for this book. Also, we extend our sincere thanks to the advertisers and donors. If not for your crucial financial support this handbook would not be possible. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.
