He enlisted in January 1944 with the RCNVR, serving in Canada and the Atlantic. He was discharged in September 1945, and has been a member of Russell Branch #159 of The Royal Canadian Legion for forty-two years. WILSON, Robert M. WWI & WWII Robert was born in Gladstone, Manitoba, in 1898. He joined the 13th Field Ambulance in World War One and the Reserve 76th Field Artillery RCA Saskatchewan in World War Two, serving in France and England. He received the Military Medal. His World War One uniform, war medals, Army watch, bible and war diary are all on display at the Gladstone Museum. Robert passed away in 1984 after having been a member of Gladstone Legion Branch #110 of The Royal Canadian Legion for many years. WOODLEY, Frederick W. WWI Frederick was born on August 29, 1899 in Brandon, Manitoba. He joined the 208th Battalion CEF. He passed away in 1954. WOOD, Jim W. WWII Jim was born in Hartney, Manitoba, in 1928. He joined the 12th Manitoba Dragoons Militia and served from 1942 to 1946, and the Royal Canadian Navy from 1946 to 1978, serving on the High Seas. He took his training in CFB Shilo, MB. Jim was awarded the CD and Z Bars and the Northern Medal. He has been a member of Killarney and Hartney Branches of The Royal Canadian Legion for over thirty years.
