He joined the Royal Canadian Artillery 2nd Canadian Division as a gunner and served in Normandy, Belgium, Holland and Germany. He passed away in 2006 and had been a member of Souris and Hartney Branches of The Royal Canadian Legion. VANDRUNEN, Anton WWII Anton was born in Cook County, Illinois, USA, in 1921. He joined the Canadian Forestry Corps, serving in Canada, England and Scotland. He had lived north of Emo, Ontario, all of his life prior to joining the Army. Anton passed away in 1987, and had been a member of Emo Gen Lipsett Branch #99 of The Royal Canadian Legion for forty years. WADSWORTH, C. E. WWII C. was born in Hartney, Manitoba, in 1897. He joined the 10thArmoured Regiment Fort Garry Horse and transferred to #3 CIB and took part in the Invasion of Italy. The date of his death is unknown. VANDRUNEN, Henry A. WWII Henry was born in Cook County, Illinois, USA, in 1920. He joined the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders, serving in Canada, England and Dieppe. He was wounded at Dieppe with shrapnel in the back and legs. Henry passed away in 1998.
